The State of Wyoming does not offer a Mortgage Broker license like other states.
However, you may have to apply for a Supervised Lender License to work as a
Mortgage Broker. The Supervised Lender licensing process is regulated by the
State of Wyoming, Division of Banking.
The completed application must be accompanied with the required registration
fee. The application can be found at:
Supervised
Lender License Application
- You must apply for a separate application for every place of business
or office location. However, all applications can be made using a single Application
form.
- In some cases, you may need to submit a Certificate of Authority along
with your application form. This confirms the applicant's authority to transact
in Wyoming and is in compliance with the Wyoming Business Corporation Act W.S.
17-16-1503. The Certificate of Authority of Authority can be obtained from the
Secretary of State.
- The Division may also ask for a summary or description of resolution
of complaints, if the applicant operates on other states. In this case, a clear
description of the nature of the complaints and how they were satisfied should
be submitted.
- A statement indicating the financial condition of the applicant must
also be submitted.
- The names and business address for all officers, directors, members,
shareholders or partners for the applicant should be listed in the application.
- The application must be notarized by approved authorities wherever required.
- After approval, the applicant must pay an initial licensing fee for
every office and business, within twenty days.
- The license is valid for one year and expires on July 1 every year.
The following reference forms must be submitted with the application form:
- One Bank Reference Form to the applicant's financial institution, and
- Two State Regulator Reference Forms to states where the applicant is
currently licensed with respect to conducting similar business; or
- Two Professional Reference Forms, to be used only in the event the applicant
is currently not regulated or licensed in other states in which similar business
is being conducted.
More information can be obtained from the Wyoming
